The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V) is used to assess for the presence of a specific learning disorder (such as dyslexia) as well as general learning difficulties for primary and secondary students (6 to 16 years). This measure gives information about a student’s potential for academic success (that is, their speed of learning in the classroom) as well as their ability to learn concepts and how well they can apply them in a new situation.
The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Adults – Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV) is used to assess the presence of a specific learning disorder (such as dyslexia) as well as general learning difficulties for adults.
These assessments are used along with the results of an educational assessment to diagnose a specific learning disorder such as dyslexia.
The fee for a Specific Learning Disorder assessment (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia) is $1,800. This cost includes: initial consultation, administration of the cognitive and educational assessments, feedback session at the end of the assessment process regarding initial results as well as a feedback session via google meet after the final report has been provided, to answer any questions arising from the report. A complete assessment (cognitive and educational) is needed to diagnose a specific learning disorder such as dyslexia. The final report will include a diagnosis of dyslexia (and/or other specific learning impairments) or a generalised learning difficulty as applicable (e.g., borderline intellectual ability). The results can be used to inform intervention and educational pathways.
The fee for a Specific Learning Disorder and ADHD assessment is $2100. This cost includes: initial consultation, administration of the cognitive and educational assessments as well as completion of executive function questionnaires, feedback session at the end of the assessment process regarding initial results as well as a feedback session via google meet after the final report has been provided, to answer any questions arising from the report.
The fee for a Specific Learning Disorder assessment (such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia) with ASD screening testing is $2100. This assessment is needed to determine if a student meets criteria for a diagnosis of a specific learning disorder as well as understand if a student is at risk of ASD. This cost includes: initial consultation, administration of the cognitive and educational assessments as well as completion of executive function questionnaires, feedback session at the end of the assessment process regarding initial results as well as a feedback session via google meet after the final report has been provided, to answer any questions arising from the report. A complete assessment (cognitive and educational) is needed to diagnose s specific learning disorder such as dyslexia. The ASD screening assists in understanding the symptoms showing at home and school. The results from screening tools alone cannot be used to confirm a diagnosis. Screening will assist in making a decision as to whether a full ASD assessment is needed.
Review assessments
For students previously diagnosed by this service, a review assessment for secondary students is offered to understand the student's progress and inform planning for educational pathways, including adjustments, as the student moves up through the senior year levels. The fee is $1400.
School assessments
Schools are welcome to request on-site assessments (minimum travel costs may apply depending on distance).
